Torial ("we," "us," or "our") provides an AI-powered video generation service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Your name, email address, and password (encrypted)
- Payment Information: Credit card details and billing address (processed securely by Stripe, our payment processor)
- Content You Submit: Text prompts, homework problems, educational content, and uploaded documents (PDFs, DOCX, PPTX, TXT files)
- Google Account Data: If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture
- Customer Support Data: Any information you provide when contacting our support team
2.2 Automatically Collected Information
- Usage Data: Video generation requests, number of videos created, models selected, and timestamps
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system, IP address, and device identifiers
- Authentication Tokens: JWT tokens stored in your browser's local storage for session management
- Subscription Data: Subscription status, billing cycle dates, payment history, and video credit balance. Our Premium subscription plans include 20 video generations per month (available as monthly at $9.99/month or annual at $83.88/year). Additional videos beyond this limit may be requested by contacting support. Free users receive 2 videos upon account creation.

2.3 Third-Party Data
We receive information from Stripe (payment processing), Google (OAuth authentication), Firebase (database and storage), and our AI video generation partners.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- Service Delivery: Generate videos based on your prompts and deliver them to you
- Account Management: Create and maintain your account, authenticate your login sessions
- Subscription Management: Process payments, manage your monthly subscription, track video credits, and handle renewals/cancellations

- Service Improvement: Analyze usage patterns to improve video quality, generation speed, and user experience

Marketing: We do not send marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in. All transactional emails (receipts, account updates) are necessary for service operation.
4. Public Content and Search Engine Indexing
IMPORTANT: All videos you generate on Torial are publicly accessible and may appear in search engines like Google. By using our service, you consent to this public visibility.
4.1 Public Video Gallery
- Explore Page: Completed videos are displayed on our public "Explore Videos" page where anyone can view them
- Shareable Links: Each video has a unique, publicly accessible URL that can be shared with anyone
- No Privacy Controls: There is currently no option to make videos private or unlisted
- Content Visibility: Your video prompts and the generated video content are visible to all users and visitors
4.2 Search Engine Indexing
- Google Indexing: We automatically submit all completed video pages to Google's indexing service for faster discovery
- Sitemap Inclusion: Your video URLs are included in our public sitemap (sitemap.xml) for search engine crawlers
- Search Results: Your videos may appear in Google search results, Google Images, and other search engines
- Metadata: Video titles, prompts, and descriptions are visible to search engines and may appear in search result snippets
- Permanent Indexing: Even after a video is deleted from our servers, search engines may retain cached versions for some time
4.3 What This Means For You
- Do not submit sensitive information: Never include personal information, passwords, private data, or confidential content in your video prompts
- Assume public visibility: Treat all content you submit as if it will be publicly visible forever
- Content responsibility: You are responsible for ensuring your prompts and videos comply with applicable laws and do not violate anyone's rights
- Account information remains private: While your videos are public, your account details (name, email, payment info) remain private and are never displayed publicly
Note: Once a video is generated and indexed by search engines, we cannot guarantee complete removal from search results even if you delete your account. Contact search engines directly to request removal of cached content.
5. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We do not sell your personal information. We share your data only with the following trusted service providers:

- AI Video Generation Partners: Your prompts are sent to third-party AI services to generate videos. We select partners with strong privacy and security standards.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users.
6. Data Storage and Retention
6.1 Where Your Data is Stored
- Account Data: Stored in Firebase Firestore (Google Cloud, US-based servers)
- Videos: Stored in Firebase Cloud Storage with encrypted URLs
- Payment Data: Stored by Stripe (not on our servers)
- Authentication Tokens: Stored in your browser's local storage
- Prompts and Content: Stored in our Firebase database
6.2 How Long We Keep Your Data
- Account Information: Retained while your account is active and for 30 days after deletion
- Payment Records: Retained for 7 years to comply with tax and financial regulations
- Playground Videos: Automatically deleted after 7 days for storage optimization. Download them before expiration if you need to keep them.
- Subscription Videos: Retained while your subscription is active and for 30 days after cancellation
- Usage Logs: Retained for 90 days for security and service improvement
- Support Communications: Retained for 2 years
Important: Playground videos expire after 7 days and cannot be recovered. Always download videos you want to keep before they expire.
7. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information, including encryption, secure connections, and access controls. We regularly review and update our security practices.
8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use the following technologies to provide and improve our service:
- Authentication Tokens: JWT tokens stored in local storage to keep you logged in
- Session Data: Browser storage for temporary data during your session
- Analytics: We may use analytics tools to understand how users interact with our service (anonymized data)
- Performance Monitoring: Error tracking and performance monitoring to fix bugs and improve speed
Note: We do not use third-party advertising cookies or sell your browsing data.
